At Techumen, we focus exclusively on securing health information. It is all we do. We do not dabble in finance, retail, utilities or other industry verticals. Health care settings have such complex and specific needs that offering generic approaches to security for health care is usually inadequate and perhaps even a disservice to any client.

At the core of our understanding of health care is that we must work within two major constraints. First, we are aware and experienced with clinical environments and the associated complex workflows needed to support patient health. Second, any technical design or controls we recommend must not cause any patient harm. Operating within these two constraints is how we help our clients manage information security and privacy risks.

Our full understanding of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), HIPAA, Stark Law, HITECH Act, and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) mandates on the development and use of Medical Devices among other regulations governing health care, allow us to provide targeted and unique risk management solutions.

These include specific projects such as:

  • Optimizing security spending for Health Care institutions with multiple facilities

  • Vendor neutral selection of core security technologies

  • Addressing and conducting due diligence on Privacy and Security concerns for health care related Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Relevant and focused information security and privacy programs for unique health care environments such as Physician Practices and Ambulatory Care Surgery Centers

In short, at Techumen we simplify health care security for our health care clients.
